The infants/prewalkers in my Baby Storytime love finger puppets. Here is my set and rhyme for next week:
Here is the beehive. (hide bees inside right fist, thumb tucked in, left hand around fist)
Where are the bees?
Hidden inside where nobody sees.
Here they come buzzing out of their hive,
One, two, three, four, five (Have bees pop up as you count)
Buzz, buzz, buzz, all fly away!
I do a lot of finger puppets in my storytimes. So I made these to use with a Family Storytime I have planned for this summer: Dig into Reading: Digging for Buried Treasure.
Five pirates on a treasure chest
One slid off and four are left.
Four pirates on a treasure chest,
One slid off and three are left.
Three pirates on a treasure chest,
One fell down and two are left.
Two pirates on a treasure chest,
One was pushed off and one is left.
One pirate on a treasure chest,
He climbed down and now there are none.
No pirates on a treasure chest!
Yo, ho, ho! Now it’s all mine!
Five little ladybugs climbing up a door;
One flew away, and then there were four.
Four little ladybugs sitting on a tree;
One flew away, and then there were three.
Three little ladybugs landed on a shoe;
One flew away, and then there were two.
Two little ladybugs looking for some fun;
One flew away, and then there was one.
One little ladybugs sitting in the sun;
She flew away, and then there were none!
